All About CRASH
CRASH was created out of a straightforward need: disabled people deserve media that treats their experiences as relevant, complex, and worth documenting with the same seriousness afforded to any other community.
Too often, disability is covered as a medical problem, a personal tragedy, or an inspirational anecdote. These limited narratives shape public perception in ways that harm us, restrict us, and erase the realities we live with every day. This magazine approaches disability as culture, politics, identity, and daily reality.
The purpose of CRASH is not to repeat what disabled people already tell each other online, nor to produce inspirational stories for a non-disabled audience. Our goal is to create journalism that is rigorous, well-researched, and grounded in lived experience — journalism that asks relevant questions and treats disabled perspectives as essential data, not side notes.
